Writing Moses Citizen & Me

"It is sometimes said that a first novel contains stories that have been germinating all your life. I'm not sure if that is true. However, I remember the day when I decided to start work on Moses, Citizen & Me - I had heard a news broadcast about child soldiers in Sierra Leone.

Below you can read the notes I made about that news item, and a few other extracts from one of my early notebooks.

It's a long journey from initial jottings to published novel, but it's fun to look back at those first thoughts..."
