Delia Jarrett-Macauley, the youngest daughter of Sierra Leonean parents, was born in Hertfordshire and now lives in South London. She is the author of three books, including The Life of Una Marson 1905-1965 and Moses, Citizen & Me, which is her first novel.

 

Homeland visit for inspirational novelist

Delia visits Freetown for the first time in 30 years to make 'Imaginary Homeland', a BBC documentary on Sierra Leone inspired by her first novel, Moses, Citizen & Me.

The Independent has listed Delia Jarrett-Macauley in their top 50 of cultural figures currently shaping the continent of Africa. The list was included in the paper's special 'Red' edition to mark World Aids Day .
